Sorry!

Good evening everyone! Just wanted to post a quick apology. I know I hadn't been on for a while or writing anything. The holidays really kept me busy, but I'm back now and in full swing, and of course, with plenty to write about!

I have one last post on "Marching to Zion" coming and after that it'll be on to fresh new topics. Especially since I've just finished Richard Dawkin's "The God Delusion" - a real treat! I think my next post will probably be a review on that.

Have a great week everyone!

Marching to Zion - Part 2 - Skewing the Facts

Quick Edit: Apologies everyone, the holidays ended up leaving me busier than anticipated, and apparently scheduling this entry to post didn't work, hence the severe lateness of this post. I promise I will return to more constant updates now that everything has died down.

In a previous post I laid out the people behind this movie and the reasons for which their motives should be taken into consideration prior to viewing. Now I would like to do a breakdown of the film itself, pointing out anything that is worthy cause for concern and momentary pause. I may give examples of other sermons and lectures by Anderson, people who generally agree with him, and lectures from people who generally oppose him. I would like to emphasize first and foremost that I am not religious, and identify as anti-theist, but for the sake of argument here I would simply like to showcase how Anderson misrepresents the general teachings of the bible as best I'm suited to do.

Marching to Zion - Part 1; Who Is Leading the March?

There's a lot of mindless drivel on the internet these days. It's one of the downfalls of the information age - the information readily available does not have to be factual, it simply has to be. There's no bar of entry for blogs, videos, tweets, posts, etc. No code for standards or ethics, and no policing force that ensures you check your facts before you add to the teaming masses of thoughts that are thrown onto the internet like garbage in a trash heap. Because of this one should rarely be shocked by what they see anymore on the internet: anti-semitic, racist commentary is rampant especially on sites such as twitter and in the comment threads of YouTube, where people can facelessly proclaim their most perverted and despicable thoughts for the world to see with little fear of rebuke that will effect them past the browser window.

The Sinful Ministry of Steven Anderson

If you haven't heard yet about the monstrous sermon by "Pastor" Steven Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church, you may be of a rapidly decreasing minority. The unapologetic, eagerly confessed hate speech that spews from this man who proclaims himself to be a vessel for the word of god had some rather vile and at times downright ignorant things to say about the events in Paris this past Friday. The most popular of which is this near six minute diatribe that could possibly be the most misinformed sermon I have yet to hear in my life.

Why Praying For Paris Won't Work

This is, without a doubt, a tragedy. While I write this, details are still being hammered out about the attacks which have so far only been confirmed as being the products of ISIS.

Dear Mr. Feuerstein,

Many people by now have no doubt heard your very vociferous diatribe about the removal of Christian oriented themes from the Starbucks holiday cups. While the only offense I personally find in their display is that once again Christmas themed everything is dancing its way out onto market lines before Thanksgiving has even come to a close, I must first, as many others have undoubtedly already done, reflect on the past design layouts of Starbucks cups to you and those who find themselves agreeing with your egregiously misinformed arguments.
